Terms of Service
Last updated: July 12, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ossium.in and related services (the "Service") operated by Ossium ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Ossium helps developers discover open source projects, track pull requests and issues, explore programs such as GSoC, use community features (for example forum), and related tools. Core discovery features may be available without an account; personalized features require sign-in.
The Service is a proprietary product. Third-party open source projects listed or linked from Ossium remain the property of their respective owners.
2. Eligibility
You must be able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and meet any minimum age required by law (and at least 13 years old, or higher where required). You are responsible for compliance with local laws when using the Service.
3. Accounts
- You may sign in using supported authentication methods (for example GitHub).
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure.
- Provide accurate information and update it when it changes.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the Service or other users.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes
- Scrape, overload, or reverse engineer the Service in a way that violates these Terms or applicable law
- Attempt to bypass rate limits, security controls, or access restrictions
- Post spam, malware, hate speech, harassment, or content that infringes others' rights
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in a deceptive way
- Interfere with ads, analytics, or other technical systems of the Service
5. User content
You retain ownership of content you submit (for example forum posts, profile text, notes). By submitting content, you grant Ossium a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and improve the Service.
You represent that you have the rights to submit the content and that it does not violate law or third-party rights. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
6. Third-party services and links
The Service may link to GitHub, project websites, sponsors, and other third parties. We do not control third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Use of third-party services is subject to their terms.
Data shown from public sources (for example GitHub metrics) is provided for convenience and may be incomplete or delayed.
7. Premium subscriptions
Optional Premium features may be offered for a fee. Pricing, billing intervals, and benefits are described on the Premium page and at checkout. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. Refunds, if any, are handled according to the payment provider's rules and any policy we publish. We may change Premium features or pricing with reasonable notice where required.
8. Advertising
Free use of the Service may include advertisements (for example via Google AdSense). Premium plans may reduce or remove ads where stated. Do not interfere with ad delivery or measurement.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including branding, design, software, and original content (excluding user content and third-party materials), is owned by Ossium or its licensors and protected by applicable law. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary materials except as expressly allowed.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, perfect accuracy of third-party data, or that the Service will meet all of your requirements.
11. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OSSIUM AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR PREMIUM IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US $100).
12. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify Ossium and its operators against claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by nature should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability limits) will survive termination.
14. Changes to the Terms
We may update these Terms by posting a revised version on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the jurisdiction where the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise.
